SIIRI OKSANEN
Siiri Oksanen is a Finnish visual artist and object designer working and living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her work explores craft and materiality - its history, context, and cultural significance, in relation to themes of femininity and the role of gender in craft. With a tactile, practice-oriented approach, Siiri seeks to reveal new aspects of materiality by intervening in processes and challenging conventional material binaries. Through functional and non-functional objects and sculptures, she reimagines domestic environments, crafting new narratives that question and expand traditional perspectives on craft and design.
FRUITSUPER DESIGN STUDIO
Fruitsuper is a Seattle-based multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2008 by Sallyann Corn and Joe Kent. Partners in business and life, their collaboration spans product design, physical environments, art curation, design education, and community experiences. Centered on playful simplicity, fruitsuper designs for the enrichment of everyday life, using small moments to create big impacts.
KATI PELTOLA
Kati Peltola is a glass artist working with flameworking techniques in her studio in Vallila, Helsinki. In flameworking, glass is locally heated to over 1000 degrees Celsius using an oxygen-gas flame. Only a few artisans in Finland master this traditional technique, despite the growing interest in glass art. Through her work, Peltola aims to raise awareness of the technique and finds the most joy in rewarding collaborations with other artists. Her practice focuses primarily on jewelry and sculpture that often play with the aesthetics of functional objects. Peltola holds a Master of Arts degree from the Contemporary Design program at Aalto University, graduating in 2020.
